The difference between hot rolling and cold rolling of stainless steel is that cold rolling is based on hot rolling.
Cold rolling: It is processed and rolled on the basis of hot-rolled stainless steel plate coils. Generally speaking, it is a process of hot rolling → pickling → cold rolling. Although the steel plate will heat up during the processing because of rolling, it is still called cold rolling. As a result of hot rolling after continuous cold transformation and cold rolling, the mechanical properties are relatively poor, the hardness is too high. It must be annealed to restore its mechanical properties, and those without annealing are called rolled hard coils. Rolled hard rolls are generally used to make products that do not need bending and stretching.
Its characteristics:
1. Cold-rolled steel plate due to a certain degree of work hardening, low toughness, the price is more expensive;
2. cold rolling processing surface without oxide skin, good quality;
3. The product made of cold deformation has high dimensional accuracy and good surface quality;
Cold rolling is widely used in all walks of life due to its production process, such as all kinds of cold stamping parts, cold rolled cold extrusion profiles, cold coil springs, cold drawn wire rods, cold heading bolts, etc.
Hot rolling (hot rolling): Relative to cold rolling, cold rolling is rolling below the recrystallization temperature, and hot rolling is rolling above the recrystallization temperature.
Its characteristics:
1. Poor toughness and surface smoothness, low price;
2. The hot rolling temperature is similar to the forging temperature;
3. The hot plate is processed by hot rolling, and the surface has oxide skin, and the thickness of the plate is poor;
4. Because of its production process, it has more civilian aspects, such as kitchen utensils, general household appliances, etc;
Hot-rolled steel plate, mechanical performance is far less than cold working, also inferior to forging processing, but has better toughness and ductility. Hope to help you.
